Campaign Intro

Legends speak of a king who entered into a pact with a wicked succubus who corrupted his heart and mind. A contract that convinced him to murder his brother, the true heir to the throne, and in turn, seal the fate of his realm. It has become known as The Accursed Kingdom, and its true name is long forgotten. Yet tides of fate have shifted, and with it, a new era has begun. The infernal pact of the king must be fulfilled. Witchcraft flourishes within each village, and a crimson red has consumed the sky. Diabolical altars have sprung up throughout the lands, and with them, monsters from the Infernus have terrorized the population. It is an omen of things to come, and as each day passes, the king grows wearier and the kingdom more vulnerable. The gates of the Infernus have been unsealed. The world of the living and dead shall collide in war. Death shall consume the lands, and humans shall reap what they have sowed. Yet even in the darkness of the Abyss, a flicker of hope can shine through. An ancient order has been established: The HellWatch, sworn to combat the forces of the Infernus. Unlikely heroes from all corners of the world have come to the aid of the ailing king. Promises of riches, power, or to find answers to one’s past. They are Light Bringers, Judges of Absolution, Magas, and War Marshals. Only time will tell if they succumb to the corruption of the darkness. Witness the flames. The Infernus is coming.

Unique Mechanics

We have included some other features in the module. These are:

·Kingdom Under Siege: An encounter generation system to combat the infernal forces besieging and destroying the kingdom’s villages, towns, and cities.

·Materia Obscura: As the players descend into the Infernus, they will be corrupted by the essence of the Abyss, which can grant them new powers, but at the cost of corrupting their body and soul.

·Freedom to explore: The players will be free to travel throughout the kingdom and discover new locations, meet new allies, gather new weapons and relics, and confront monstrous enemies.

·HellWatch Order: The king has constituted an Order named HellWatch to combat the oncoming Infernal forces. A headquarters called the Chamber of Lux has been allotted for the members of the Order.
