It is the depths of winter, and the last day of the year has arrived at Crag Keep. Clan members and their families have settled into their homes. Despite the uncertain times, it is a time for rejoicing and fellowship. For the Highlanders, Hogmanay is one of their most beloved festivities. Friends and family alike enjoy plenty of banter and feasting, as well as drowning their sorrows in wine and ale.

For you, however, it is a time of brooding and sorrow. A time to remember your mother and father. Of your cousins, Rory and Ailsa. Those times were filled with joy and happiness, and you will never experience them again.

Yet now you have found yourself forming a family of your own. A rag-tag crew of fighters, warriors, and brave souls who have joined your cause against the Wyverns. It is here, in Crag Keep on Hogmanay, that you will celebrate this festivity once again.

Your heart remembers the past. The pain echoes within your flesh.

What is Hogmanay

Hogmanay is the Highland tradition of bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new with fire, song and copious amounts of alcohol. It is the Scottish New Year.

It is a time for gatherings and spending time with friends and family. A time for remembering the good and bad times. It is a time to rejoice with those who are still here while remembering those who are no longer with us. It is a time to settle debts, lay grudges to rest and swap stories.

Hogmanay at Crag Keep is a narrative event that takes place during your campaign and is meant to be played once you have gathered your allies and restored Crag Keep. This special scenario represents the last day of the year and unfolds through a series of encounters, memories, and choices that shape the emotional state of your hero.
